Today we talked about leadership. We spent the last few days analyzing how the Persians and Assyrians gained/kept power. Today we started transferring that knowledge into a guidebook titled "Leadership for Dummies". As a reminder, to receive full credit on this assignment you need to use direct evidence from the various readings.

Today we talked about the Assyrians and the Persians. We talked about how the Assyrians used hard power to create an incredibly large and powerful army. Then we talked about how the Persians used soft power in order to create a stable, tolerant, and educated empire.

1) Go to the Skyline Library website via the Skyline webpage. And click on Library Catalog.
2) Choose a non-fiction book in the catalog and write down the title and call number of the book.
3) Go to the “Databases” tab on the library page and look at the different databases and write down the name of one database.

Today we compared and contrasted Egypt and Mesopotamia. We saw the key similarities (religion, geography, economy, etc.) as well as major differences (afterlife, river type, technology, government, etc.)
Then we started designing our own civilizations. You will have 20 minutes on Wednesday to finish these.
Today we talked about Egypt. We looked at how the Nile impacted the development of Egyptian society, including their religion, government, and economy. We saw how the pleasant Egyptian lifestyle created a positive Egyptian afterlife.
Your homework tonight is to create either a T-Chart or Venn-Diagram comparing/contrasting Ancient Egypt to Ancient Mesopotamia. Use your critical reading notes to collect evidence.
Be sure to include:
