For this assignment, you will be writing a break-up letter to an imaginary significant other in the format/structure of the Declaration of Independence
1.(Claim): Statement of hypothetical rights/treatments you deserve followed by your request for independence
2.(Evidence) List of wrongdoings your significant other has besieged upon you
3.(Analysis) Explanation of how these wrongdoings have impacted your life and impeded on your liberties
4.(Conclusion) A final farewell solidifying your departure from the relationship
Today we talked a little more about taxes. We looked at the American tax bracket before finishing our discussion about their purpose, value, and controversy. Then we discussed the build up to the American revolution, including taxes (duh), tea, "massacres", and militias. Finally, we analyzed the Declaration of Independence.
Your homework tonight is two-fold:
