Congratulations on completing your junior year at Skyline! Grades are finalized and posted. It has been an absolute privilege working with each and every one of you. I appreciate the effort, open-mindedness, and humor you brought to class everyday, all of which makes it that much more bittersweet to leave Skyline. Thank you all for challenging me to be a better teacher, for pushing my own content knowledge, and for making me excited to come to work everyday. I've posted my new email address below and am looking forward to hearing about your senior year and college search! As always, don't hesitate to email me if there is anything I can do to help.
Here is our review schedule:
Today: Review Wheel
Wednesday (2nd Period): Study Guide Review, All late work due
Wednesday (After School): Study Guide Review
Today we looked at the elections of 1988 and 1992. We talked about George HW Bush, Dan Quayle, and presidential debates. We also discussed how Bill Clinton was able to win the election of 1992.
Your homework is to complete the attached questions for Bill Clinton. I've also attached the study guide for your final.
Today we watched the first half of the Netflix documentary 13th. It was an interesting perspective into the history of race, the criminal justice system, and politics in American history.
Your homework tonight is to write a short reflection of the documentary from today. What did you think? What resonated with you? What questions do you have? How did the conversation compare to our discussion of heroine use in the United States?
Today we talked about the Cold War under Ronald Reagan. We discussed the Iran Contra Affair, Nicaragua, and illegal arms sales! Then we discussed the war on drugs, the 100:1 disparity in sentencing, and the current heroine epidemic in the United States.
