Today we talked about the reliability of the internet. We saw that quotes are easy to manipulate, and sometimes we rely too heavily on a single source of information. We also talked about individual accomplishments, and if the negative aspects of someone's life can negate their accomplishments.
Your homework tonight (if you didn't finish in class) is to finish the chart we started yesterday. Additionally, you need to draw a book cover for their autobiography, including a short description of their life on the back.
I've also attached an example Cover Page in case you need inspiration for your essay.
Today we started a small research project on the Women's Rights Movement. We will continue working on this tomorrow.

Today we talked about Suffrage. We looked at the history of the Suffrage Movement and saw that it started with women fighting for the abolition of slavery. We talked about how the effectiveness of that movement gave women confidence to fight against alcoholism (leading to prohibition) before moving the battle to Suffrage. Then we looked at how people got around prohibition including Speak-Easys, Wine Bricks, and the rum runners (which would become NASCAR!)

Today we took a quiz. To demonstrate the importance of teamwork, it was a partner quiz (alright, the copy machine stopped printing after 30 copies...)

Today we talked about the build up to the United States entering World War 1. We looked at Wilson's desire for neutrality, as well as the events that finally convinced him to join the Allied Powers. Then we talked about propaganda, as well as what it takes to convince someone to start a fight (or a war).
Then we used Chapter 24 to find evidence on the domestic impact WW1 had on the following:
