Today we started talking about Reconstruction. We framed Reconstruction as a failure for whites, blacks, and modern Americans. We talked about how the Civil War was (and is) viewed very differently in the North and the South. We discussed how the South viewed the war as a failed revolution while North might look at it as rebellion they crushed. We talked about how this will change the way each side views Reconstruction, analyzed how the war changed Civil Rights in the United States, and briefly started to talk about Johnson's plan for Reconstruction. Also, Donald Trump somehow came up again.
Due to the richness of the conversation today, you have no homework.
