Today we threw paper balls at the recycling bin. We used this exercise to start a conversation about privilege. We decided that there are many ways to change your position in life, but that where you start has drastic implications for where you finish. We also talked about how starting near the front can create more pressure to succeed than starting in the back. Then we transferred this concept and talked about the American Dream. We looked at how individual experiences have created an America that lacks a single definition of the American Dream. We also asked if this was a good or a bad thing before quickly talking about the diversity of the American experience.
