Today we started class by practicing one of the most valuable skills in Social Studies: Constructing a reasonable, evidence based argument. We analyzed a current issue in your lives, constructed evidence for and against, and discussed reasonable, mature solutions.
Then we started helping our long-term memory by visualizing and creating "The Ideal Puritan".
Your homework this weekend is to finish the "Ideal Puritan" Drawing from class today. Make sure and represent:

•Ethnocentric (Mass. Bay as “city upon the hill”)
–Avoid sin at all costs
–Sexuality within marriage

•Simple lifestyle to avoid sin

•Strict/literal interpretation of the Bible: Bible as law, church as court
•Lack of excessive worship: No rituals, stained class, singing, music, etc.
